Who We Are
|
Formed in 1993, PRO has developed a reputation for excellence and
innovation in providing outsourced boards of directors and business
forums for company presidents, CEOs, COOs, managing partners, and
business owners.
PRO's founder and national director, Ray Silverstein, developed the
PRO concept out of his experiences as the CEO of two manufacturing
companies, with operating facilities in five states, and selling
worldwide. Ray's personal support group was the Young President's
Organization, where he learned first-hand the tremendous benefit of
meeting with other business executives to discuss problems,
opportunities and challenges.
PRO brings the benefits of his past experience both to the
other moderators
in the PRO network, and directly or indirectly to the
members of each PRO group around the country. Consistent with the PRO
concept of sharing and idea exchange, Ray's articles are also widely
published in a variety of business magazines and newspapers.

What We Do
|
PRO groups meet for half a day, once a month, to share issues, discuss
problems and opportunities, evaluate progress, and set personal and
corporate goals. PRO leaders expertly guide and assist the confidential
discussions towards honest and constructive feedback, stimulating
thought-provoking ideas, and helping you refocus and prioritize. Each
meeting is based on a planned agenda, starting with a specific topic of
general management interest, but concentrating especially on an open
discussion, where members talk about their own most pressing real-life
issues.
Each group includes no more than 12 members, heading non-competing
companies that are similar in size, revenue, and complexity. It's like
having your own advisory board, support group, and personal network.
PRO members also may attend a variety of supplementary workshop
programs, conducted by PRO Sponsors and other experts on particular
business issues of widespread concern. |
What
You Will Get
|
When you're part of PRO, you're a participant in a dialogue for business
solutions. You may be in business for yourself, but you don't have to be
in business by yourself.
Members tend to pay tribute to one concept as the most important
thing they derive: the concept of working on the business, not just in
the business. PRO stimulates you to look in two directions - to solve
your current problems, and to address your future opportunities.
Through PRO, you are encouraged to step back from your day-to-day
pressures and take a more objective view of your own situation. Your
moderator and your colleagues will help you to:
-
Probe into the heart of the issue
-
See your own blind spots
-
Examine your problem in the light of your objectives
-
Open the door to more solutions
-
Define the next steps you ought to take
As your colleagues share their similar experiences and offer their
suggestions, you get insights on how their yesterday can apply to your
tomorrow. You quickly learn that a solution by all of us is better than
by one of us .

I'd
cut a lot of corners before I would give up PRO. The knowledge I get from
PRO is worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.

What
You Will Gain
|
When we ask new PRO members why they are joining, most often they are
making an investment in themselves and in seeking practical solutions to
their business issues. When we ask them later what they appreciate most
about what they are getting, it's most often the satisfaction of moving
towards achieving their full potential.
Putting this in practical terms, here are the PRO advantages we hear
about most often:
- Input and support from others with similar issues
- Gaining knowledge and insights from peers and mentors
- Fresh points of view, new perspectives
- Candid, unbiased feedback
- Being stopped from making major mistakes
- Enhanced business skills
- Peer pressure to do the hard but necessary things
- A network of potential sources and customers
- Gratification in assisting others
Which of these is most important to you? If you could gain one thing
from membership in PRO, what would you like it to be? Only you can
answer those questions, but PRO can help. |
